Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you cover?

Our dog walking service covers Mickleover, Mackworth, Allestree and Littleover.

Will my dog be washed before drop off?

Yes, your dog will be cleaned and towel dried after every walk.

What happens in the case of an emergency with my pet?

We will immediately call you should your pet be ill or injured. Should your pet need veterinary assistance they will be taken to the vet by myself.

Will my dog be walked off lead?

If your dog has reliable recall they will be walked off lead however for those without recall a longline will be used.

Will I need to provide treats?

No, we provide all treats and water for the dogs in our care.

Do you carry a Pet First Aid Kit on walks?

Yes, we carry a Pet First Aid Kit on all walks and are Pet First Aid trained.

How will my key be stored?

If you provide us with a key as you will not be home for collection, your key will be stored in a key safe at my home that only I have access too. You can ask for your key back at any point.

How many dogs will you walk on group walks?

We are insured to walk up to 6 dogs at a time.

Do you have insurance?

We have pet business insurance through Protectivity.

How do you transport dogs for walks?

All dogs will be transported in our dedicated dog walking cars. We have now moved from vans to family carrier cars which have been kitted out for group walks. Anxious and reactive dogs prefer the comfort and quiet of a car.  We prioritise the dogs comfort whilst still ensuring their safety.

What is your cancellation policy?

we will need 48 hours notice for cancellation. If notice is given with less than 48 hours notice you will be charged the full price of the walk.

How do I sign up for walks?

Please fill in our enquiry form and I will contact you to arrange a free meet and greet where we can discuss the best walking plan for your dog.

How long are your walks?

All walks are a full hour, excluding pick up and drop off. Pick up and drop off are not included in the walk time.

I have an anxious dog, will you walk them?

Yes, I would recommend solo walks initially until they felt confident enough to walk with one dog and would slowly introduce them to group walks.

Can I just have occasional walks?

Of course, we offer ad hoc walks but these will be subject to availability.

What approach do you take to dog training?

We follow a positive, rewards based training approach. We do not use aversives and and only use ethical, dog centred, training techniques.  Any behavioural issues noticed on a walk will be discussed with you.

My dog has a bite history, will you still walk them?

Dogs with aggression and a bite history will only be allowed on solo walks and the safety of the walker will be a priority. If it is unsafe to walk your dog walks will be cancelled.

Will my dog have the same dog walker each week?

If you have a regularly booked slot your dog walker remains the same. This ensures consistency and stability for the dogs and the walker. For ad hoc bookings we will strive to have the same dog walker for consistency but on busy days may have to alternate between Nick and Amy.

Do you offer out of hours walks?

We do but there will be an additional charge of £5 for out of hours walks.
